Summary of Medium/Heavy Truck Standards Revision

The wording and priority designation of some tasks were changed, but the required percentages of P-1, P-2, and P-3 tasks remain the same: 95% of P-1, 70% of P-2, and 25% of P-3 tasks.

Some tasks were removed and some tasks were added to reflect current technology and practice.

Changes were made to the tools & equipment list to parallel the changes to the task list.

The overall number of hours required for accreditation in all 8 areas has been reduced from 1,020 hours to 955 hours; the five required areas (noted in bold) have been reduced from 730 hours to 705 hours. Below is an outline of the changes made to the Medium/Heavy Truck specialty area requirements:
