INFORMATION ABOUT ON-SITE EVALUATION TEAM MEMBERS

The program requesting certification is responsible for recruiting and recommending on-site evaluation team members. The ETL must approve individuals recommended by the program. The on-site evaluation team members must be practicing collision repair and refinish technicians, service managers or shop owners from businesses in the area served by the training program.

Team members must have:

  1. a high school diploma or the equivalent (industry or military training may be considered as the equivalent), and
  2. at least seven years full-time experience as a general collision repair and refinish technician.
ASE collision repair and refinish certification is recommended but not required.

The initial certification evaluation team and the recertification evaluation team require the same number of individuals to conduct the evaluation. This includes the ETL and two on-site evaluation team members. Both team members must be from industry (one from a dealership and one from an independent repair facility). One alternate team member choice is to be identified on the On-Site Evaluation Team Member List in the event that one of the team members is unable to conduct the on-site evaluation. The alternate team member may be from either a dealership or from an independent repair facility.

Team members must not be advisory committee members, former instructors, or graduates of the program within the past ten years.
