An automotive technician’s job description consists of far more than the performance of manipulative tasks required to service today’s complex vehicles.  Successful technicians must possess an array of workplace skills and a unique blend of academic and technical skills.

The documents below contain a listing of communication, math, and science skills required of automotive technicians to effectively analyze, diagnose, service and/or repair today’s technically sophisticated automobiles.   The documents provide guidance for those programs that wish to include academic skills as part of their accreditation.
