  1. Has the accreditation model changed for Collision Repair and Refinish?
  2. Did the instructor qualifications change?
  3. Did the number of hours change to achieve accreditation?

  1. Has the accreditation model changed for Collision Repair and Refinish?  Yes, there are now four accreditation options to choose from.  Each Accreditation Option requires that the new Damage Analysis/Estimating/Customer Service (DAECS) tasks be taught.  The updated model is available for viewing at www.natef.org.

  1. Did the instructor qualifications change?  No, there has been no change to the instructor qualification requirement.   Although the new model includes Damage Analysis/Estimating tasks, ASE certification in B6 is not required.

Did the number of hours change to achieve accreditation?  Yes, because the accreditation model has changed the number of hours required per accreditation option has been updated.  A breakdown of hours can be found in the Policies section of the 2013 Collision Repair and Refinish Accreditation Standards.

  1. Have the task lists changed?  Yes, we have added tasks specific to Damage Analysis/Estimating/Customer Service.  There were minor additions to the other tasks list.  The task lists are available at www.natef.org.

  1. Are the HP-I and HP-G percentages changing?  No, the percentages for tasks taught remain the same at HP-I 95% and HP-G 90%.
